About Dr Gloria Fong
Dr Gloria Fong is a specialist dermatologist and fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in both public and private practice in Sydney, Australia. She is trained on all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology. Her attentive and supportive approach to patient care reflects her deep passion for making a positive impact on the lives of her patients and their families.
Dr Fong has a particular interest in managing a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, psoriasis, eczema and paediatric dermatology. Additionally, she places a strong emphasis on the early diagnosis and management of skin cancer, recognising the vital role that timely intervention can play in improving patient outcomes.
After completing her medical degree from the University of Sydney, Dr Fong gained valuable experience during her internship and residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She then spent an additional year working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital’s dermatology department as the advanced therapies (biologics & targeted small molecules) and clinical trials doctor. Following this, she obtained 4 years of specialist training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Westmead Hospital and Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Dr Fong has a strong academic background in research and evidence-based care. She has been awarded many scholarships, grants and awards. Prior to medicine, she lived and worked as a researcher in Canada and Sweden which led to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focusing on collagen rich tissue. She has ongoing research activity in dermatology. Her research has been presented both nationally and internationally and has led to a number of peer reviewed publications.
Dr Fong is dedicated to guiding and educating the next generation of dermatologists. She delivers dermatology services as a Staff Specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, overseeing both general dermatology and biologics clinics by supervising doctors in training. She is deeply committed to mentoring and teaching medical students and serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney.
Besides English, Dr Fong is conversant in Mandarin and Cantonese.
